At MDS we have a wide range of design skills and experience in electronics hardware, firmware and software development. Because we have these core skills in-house, we approach design problems as a whole to arrive at the most effective solution, rather than splitting them into 'software' and 'hardware' sub-projects. This has the effect of negating the need to compensate for failings in one element with hacks and workarounds in the other - a common feature of split-team design work. Similarly, PCB design is undertaken by electronics engineers who understand the electronics they are routing (they may even have designed it) - leading to benefits such as reduced EMC compliance issues and maximum placement density. These same engineers will also have a hand in any accompanying mechanical hardware or enclosure design, again reducing the need to compromise one for the other.
