About Us

MDS has been offering electronic design solutions since 1985.  Originally we specialised in touch-screen control solutions for the telecoms and industrial control markets - back then touch screen overlays on LCD screens were novel!  We built a reputation, still closely guarded, for rugged, reliable systems that were intuitive and flexible to use.  We have systems from the 1980's and 90's that are controlling power stations, water treatment plants and financial dealer telephone networks.  We still provide support, software updates  and spare parts for many of these installations.

In the mid-90's we took over the operation of our former sub-contract manufacturing partner to bring all aspects of design and manufacture in-house.  Since then we have seen a large portion of our business come from the scientific and industrial research markets, bringing our design and manufacturing expertise to a whole range of instruments, control and monitoring systems.
